| Larry... better known as L.P., began ministry at First Church in September 2001. Before coming to Wichita, he served as Student Ministries pastor at the First Church of the Nazarene in Broken Arrow, OK for almost 6 years. |
|
| Though he was born in Charleston, South Carolina, L.P. grew up in a small town in Southeast Missouri called Piedmont. It was in Piedmont at the local Nazarene church that he began his journey with Jesus Christ as a Sophomore in high school. His best friend's dad was the pastor of the church. While in high school L.P. answered a call to full time ministry and after graduating high school in 1989, chose to attend MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. He completed his Bachelor of Arts double major in the areas of Religion and English from MNU in 1994 and his Master of Liberal Arts with a Literature emphasis from Baker University in 1996. During college, L.P. and began dating his wife Crystal and together they started working with the Junior High Ministry at Olathe College Church of the Nazarene and fell in love with ministry to students. |

| As Student Ministries Pastor, L.P. oversees the weekly ministry to grades 7-12 in the Area 51 Student Center where students from all across the Wichita Metro Area come to connect with each other in small groups, grow in their faith through discipleship classes, serve Christ and His people through ministry to others and celebrate their faith in weekly worship and preaching services geared just for students. The Youth Staff is second to none and while they have fun with students and each other, they are serious about investing in the lives of students. Stop in on a Wednesday night worship service, a Sunday morning small group or a Sunday evening ministry and discipleship class and see what it is that student and the youth staff love about First Naz Student Ministries and Area 51...God and His people! |
